Professor Guy Dirheimer is a member of the Executive Committe of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (President 1999-2002, Secretary General 1983-1989). He was president of EUROTOX from 1990 to 1992. Member of the French Academy of Medicine and Secretary General of the French National Committee of Biochemistry, he has made several contributions to the advancement of toxicology, including understanding the mode of action of ricine, discovering the effects of lead on tRNAs and the genotoxic effects of ochratoxin A.
